Scholarships
To assist young men and women in continuing their education beyond high school, local American Legion Posts gave more than $4.4 million in scholarships during the 2010-2011 reporting year.
Maine American Legion Scholarships Available:
Children and Youth Scholarships - seven, $500 scholarships. Criteria: must demonstrate financial need. Deadline May 1 of each year. Click here for a printable application.
Daniel E. Lambert Memorial Scholarship - $1000. (two scholarships may be awarded contingent upon the availability of funds) Criteria: must demonstrate financial need, must be a resident of the State of Maine, U.S. Citizen, parent or grandparent must be a veteran. Deadline May 1 of each year. Click here for a printable application.
James V. Day Scholarship - $500. (two scholarships may be awarded contingent upon the availability of funds) Criteria: must demonstrate financial need, must be a resident of the State of Maine, U.S. Citizen, parent or grandparent must be a member of the Maine American Legion.
